Booking terms

Reception is open every day from 9 AM to 12 PM and from 3 PM to 5 PM. Check-in starts at 3 PM. For cabins, check-out is at 11 AM, and for camping guests, it is at 12 PM.

If you arrive outside of the reception’s opening hours, please contact us in advance via email at info@visbystrandby.se, and we will provide you with instructions for check-in and key collection.

Smoking is not allowed in any of the cabins. Pets are allowed in the ”Lillstugan” and on the camping site.

BED LINEN, CLEANING, AND WI-FI

You should bring your own bed linen and towels, or you can pre-order them for an additional cost. The same applies to child cots and high chairs.

You are responsible for cleaning, unless you have pre-ordered cleaning before your arrival. In case of non-compliance with cleaning, a fee of 2000 SEK will be charged. Due to limited water resources on Gotland, there is an environmental and shower card fee added to your booking.

Wi-Fi and internet usage are included in the daily rate, although there may be areas with weaker reception.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITY AS A GUEST

Always verify your booking confirmation and invoice, both that you have received them and that they are correct. If not, please contact us immediately.

Ensure that any agreements made with our booking staff are documented in your records.

Specific accommodation spots cannot be reserved in advance, but we are open to receiving requests. Our receptionists will do their best to accommodate your preferences when allocating spots and cabins.

For the comfort of all guests, the campsite is quiet from 11 PM to 7 AM. During this time, motor vehicles are not allowed on the premises (except for check-in and check-out guests).

Even during other times, please be considerate of other guests regarding noise levels, especially from personal speakers.

If any damage occurs to property or inventory due to negligence by you or your companions, you will be held liable.

The camping spot or cabin should be used for the purpose stated during booking, usually for recreational use. No other use is allowed.

It is not allowed to have more people stay overnight in the cabin or on the camping spot than indicated during booking. All residents should be declared at the time of booking.

If the provider finds that more people are staying or living in the cabin or camping area than agreed upon, the provider has the right, after a warning, to evict the tenant. The same applies if complaints about disturbing behavior reach the provider.

PAYMENT

Payment must be received by Visby Strandby no later than the time indicated in the confirmation you receive via email immediately after booking.

For bookings made more than 28 days before arrival, an advance payment of 10 percent of the total amount must be received by Visby Strandby immediately upon booking.

In addition to the advance payment, there may be additional costs for cancellation protection, invoice fees, and booking fees.

The final payment must then be received by Visby Strandby no later than 28 days before arrival. For bookings made less than 28 days before arrival, the final payment must be received by Visby Strandby at the time of booking or as agreed.

CANCELLATION COSTS

If cancellation protection has not been purchased or is not applicable:

• 28 days or more before arrival: 10% of the booking price (the advance payment), minimum 500 SEK.
• 27–12 days before arrival: 25% of the booking price.
• 11–2 days before arrival: 50% of the booking price.
• 1–0 days before arrival: 100% of the booking price.

Cancellation protection, change fees, invoice fees, and service fees are non-refundable.

CANCELLATION PROTECTION

Can only be purchased at the time of booking. Price: Camping site 295 SEK per site. Price: Cabin 495 SEK per cabin.

If you choose to utilize the cancellation protection, all individuals in the booking will be canceled. No partial refunds will be issued if other travelers decide to proceed with their trip. Cancellation protection allows for cancellation up to midnight one day before arrival (e.g., between Wednesday and Thursday if you were planning to arrive on a Friday). An expedition fee of 200 SEK will be charged.

The cancellation protection applies to all named individuals in the booking, and you must be able to provide proof of your reason for cancellation from a doctor, authority, or insurance company. Certificates received more than seven days after the cancellation date will not be considered.

Valid reasons for cancellation and use of the cancellation protection include:

• Death, illness, or serious accidents affecting you, your spouse, cohabitant, your or their parents, children, siblings, or travel companions.
• Call-up for military or civil defense service.
• Any other serious event beyond your control that makes it unreasonable to expect you to adhere to your booking.

MINIMUM AGE FOR BOOKING AND ACCOMMODATION

Visby Strandby has an age limit for the campsite, meaning all guests must be 18 years old or be accompanied by another adult. Identification of all guests will be carried out upon arrival. Compliance with the age limit is a requirement to make a booking and gain access to the accommodation. The age limit does not apply to families with children.

Heightened age requirement during week 29 for those booking accommodation and camping during week 29 (July 13-20, 2024)

The person responsible for the booking during week 29 must be at least 25 years old and must also be residing in the cabin or camping spot booked for the entire stay. If the age requirement is not met, access to the facility will not be granted. The age rule does not apply to families with children.
