Welcome to Visby Strandby – City Camping by the Sea

With the sea as your closest neighbor and just a short walk from the world heritage site, Visby’s city center, you’ll find the island’s only city camping – Visby Strandby. From here, it’s close to both relaxing walks and delightful swims, as well as Visby’s offering of shopping and restaurants. Whether you’re traveling alone, as a couple, with family, or in a larger group, there is suitable accommodation – camping, cottages, or glamping. All with a view towards the sea and Gotland’s magical sunsets.

Is the accommodation available?

Cabins

The cabin village offers several variations of cabins. Choose based on size or comfort requirements. A more basic option? Or perhaps one with a private kitchen and a double bed? All of them are located facing the sea.

Camping

At the campsite, there’s space for motorhomes, caravans, and tents, all located near the sea and the beach. The three service buildings offer modern kitchens, showers, and toilets. Or perhaps you’d like to take a shower under the open sky?

Glamping

If you want to keep the feeling of camping in a tent but with more space and the comfort of sleeping in a cozy double bed, then choose one of our furnished glamping tents. Here, you’ll have lighting, your own refrigerator, and heating for cooler summer nights.

Pitched tents

In our pitched tents, you’ll experience the true camping feeling but without the need to bring your own tent. Choose between a smaller one for two people or a larger one for four people. All of them come with real beds.

We are now opening the booking for 2024

Visby Strandby is closed during the autumn and winter, but the booking is, of course, open! We will reopen the facility on April 25, 2024. You are warmly welcome to book accommodation here on the website and to visit us in the summer. Visby Strandby, Gotland’s only city camping!

Always the best price when booking the ferry and accommodation together in a travel package. The package includes an overnight stay at Visby Strandby and a round-trip passenger ticket to Gotland.

We are introducing a 25-year age limit during week 29

We are raising the age requirement to 25 years for those booking accommodation and camping during week 29. The person responsible for the booking during week 29 must be at least 25 years old and must also be staying in the cabin or on the camping site for the entire duration, depending on what is booked.

Gotland’s Food Market

Whether you live on Gotland or are visiting, you must not miss a visit to Gotland’s Food Market. This year, there are eight stalls with a variety of food offerings. You’ll find food from Japan, Syria, Ukraine, Mexico, Afghanistan, India, Greece, Poland, Lebanon, and Italy. You’re guaranteed to have a wow experience.

Opening hours

The campground is open until September 30th. The reception is open between 08:00 AM to 17:00 PM until september 9. Booking support is available Monday to Friday from 09:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
